Orange (O)-Orangish
(o): A color shade resembling the common Florida Orange peel. Orange is
considered a warm color. The range of color tone for orange diamonds is quite
variable in lightness and saturation, resulting in pale (cantaloupe) orange,
bright (flame) orange, dull (burnt) orange, and deep (marigold) orange. Other
popular names for mixtures of orange are amber, apricot, autumn, carrot, cognac
and salmon. One of the most exquisite of all orange diamonds is described as
being of pumpkin orange color.

Mounted Pumpkin Diamond with 2 trapezoid side diamonds

This cushion-shaped diamond was mounted in a ring worn by
Halle Berry when she accepted her Best Actress Oscar® for the movie "Monster's
Ball" in 2002. The Pumpkin Diamond was so named when it was acquired by the
Harry Winston, Inc. at auction, on the day before Halloween. Typically, diamonds
in the orange color range are darker and less intense. However, the lightness
and intensity of the breathtaking Pumpkin Diamond makes the stone utterly
unique. In fact, the Pumpkin, found in South Africa, is one of the largest Fancy
Vivid orange natural color diamonds in the world. The Pumpkin was cut by William
Goldberg.
